| The
ideal situation would be 2 pairs of orthotics, each made
from a cast of your feet. The cost for this is approximately
$700. However, very often non-prescription (non-casted)
orthotics have enough inherent control to adequately control
pronation. Thus, my discovery of "dressthotics".
Dressthotics are wafer thin and can be worn in all types
of shoes for the vast majority of patients. The control
inherent in "dressthotics" is adequate and they
don't require prescription orthotic devices. Sometimes the
comfort that patients get just in "dressthotics"
steer them into realizing that orthotics made from a cast
of their feet is the appropriate direction for treatment.
These orthotics are analogous to reading glasses which are
not made from an examination of ones eyes, i.e. they may
not be exactly suited to the specific deformity but they
make a huge difference in adding comfort to ones life. If
"dressthotics" are comfortable but they are not
resolving your problem 100% that may be an indication that
orthotics made from a cast of your feet is the next step
in resolving your specific foot problem.
I've
seen the orthotics made at various store fronts and television
infomercials and have been very unimpressed. The devices
are usually bulky and because they are so thick, are difficult
to put into sandals and heels and are more expensive.
COST: $125.00
($13.93 restocking fee) if returned.
